* Will I get dressed at the wedding site or home?

* How will I get to the wedding site? To the reception?

* Who can I rely upon to act as a coordinator/facilitator for the day? Should I hire a professional for planning a wedding?

* Do I want the photographer to come to my home? When?

* How, when, and where will the wedding vendors deliver their goods? Who do they report to?

* What kind of delivery needs do the musicians and caterer have and can we accommodate them?

* Will there be a need for security?

* Parking for the guests?

* Where can the professionals store their equipment when it's not in use (i.e. photographers...)?

* Will we need storage or a holding/storage area at the wedding or reception sites?

* What electrical or kitchen needs are there?

How To Choose The Perfect Wedding Dress
Many brides have envisioned their wedding dress since they were little girls. Although they may not have known exactly what the dress would look like, they generally have some idea of what style and material they would like. For others, they simply have no idea what type of dress they are looking for. With all of the choices on the market today, the possibilities are endless.

As the bride walks down the aisle on her wedding day, all eyes will be on her, she will be the center of attention. The first step in finding your dream wedding dress is to set up a budget. Having a budget in place will help you greatly when you begin searching for your beautiful gown. If money is tight, a great time to buy your wedding dress is between January and March. Last years gowns will be drastically reduced, in order to make room for the new dresses that will be arriving.

When you begin looking for your wedding dress, be sure to keep your options wide open,at times, a dress that is less than appealing hanging up, may just be the perfect dress for you. No matter what type of wedding dress you choose, you will want one that enhances your best features, while camouflaging any flaws you might have.

The style of your wedding dress should coordinate with the overall theme and style of the wedding. If you are having a beach wedding, a gown with a long flowing train might not work well. On the other hand, if you are having a winter wedding, a strapless, mid-length gown may look out of place. Therefore, it is important to give the style of your wedding, as well as your dress, a lot of thought.

When looking for your wedding dress, be sure to consult with a professional. They are able to make recommendations as to what style of dress would look best on you. Since professionals help brides pick out their gown, they are experts at what would enhance your beautiful day with the most gorgeous wedding gown to suit you. For many brides, nothing is more important than the look and feel of her wedding dress. Chances are you will spend a great deal of time looking for and deciding on the perfect gown, but with all your plans and preparation, you will find the wedding dress of your dreams.

Creating your first impression with wedding invitations
After you've decided who you want to invite, you should decide how you are going to invite them. Your invitations should fit in with the overall theme and mood of your wedding celebration. These little notes are your guests' first impression of your wedding. Invitations can be pricey, but you don't necessarily need to pay an excessive amount of money to craft the style and tone of your special day. There are thousands of invitations available in stationary stores, on-line and from catalogs. You could also opt to craft your own an increasing trend for today's wedding couples. Think about all these options and choose the one that best fits your style and budget. If you can, use the same kind of stationary for everything in your wedding. Order all stationary material you need at one time and order more than the number of guests you plan to invite. Invitations are typically purchased in increments of twenty-five or fifty. If you're making your own invitations, order extra paper, velum, envelopes and anything else you would like to create them. It's less expensive to order more than you need the first purchase than to have to order more later because you ran out. There are many things you should be aware of when deciding on your invitations or researching about how to make your own invitations. Evaluate the weight of the paper, the color tint, font and size of wording, size of invitation and envelopes, general look and postage restrictions and costs. Think about buying your invitations on-line. You can frequently find the same invitations on-line for a fraction of the price you'll pay at your local stationary stores. Regardless of whether you plan on buying your invitations online, look at websites for ideas and price comparisons. It's a convenient place to research ideas without leaving your home. Choose exactly what you will be ordering and including with your invitation. There is no "wrong" or "right", but normally most brides order invitations, inner and outer envelopes, a reception card, response cards and response card envelopes. Other options include: pew cards, place cards, and accommodation information cards even bridal registry cards. Invitations should be mailed six to eight weeks before the wedding. It's customary to all invitations by hand. If your handwriting isn't up to standards, ask some family members with nice penmanship to to assist you. You could also opt to have your invitations written by a calligrapher. Your invitations will need to include everything your guests should have to get to your ceremony and reception: date, time, address, exact name of site and reception room along with directions. Customs have changed as far as whose names should be mentioned on the invitation. It once was appropriate that invitations were given in the name of the bride's parents, even if she lived away from home or had been married before. If the bride's parents were divorced, the name of only one parent appeared on the invitation. If the parent remarried, the step-parent's name was listed on the first line followed by the daughter's to indicate relationship. These are still appropriate rules to follow but they are surely no longer considered the only way to write your invitations.

How Much Does a Wedding Cost: Cheap, Expensive, Average
So the question was popped and now you and your fianc© are in the process of planning your wedding, congratulations! Now you are faced with the daunting task of budgeting. So how much does a wedding reception cost? Is it cheap, expensive or average? Only you can answer those questions after taking the following into consideration. A Cheap Wedding Reception is not Always the Best You heard the saying, you get what you pay for, let the buyer beware. Well, when you are interviewing wedding reception vendors you will get a general feel for the prices and options. The lowest cheapest spectrum might be competitively priced, but will they under deliver? Determining how much does a wedding cost will depend on credibility of your wedding reception vendors. They should provide you with a list of recent references (preferably last 6 months.) You can stay way below the average for your grand total wedding costs. Just keep in mind that the cheapest service you go with will have to compliment your ONE wedding. Average Wedding Prices has its Pros and Cons Well an average price for your wedding cost might make you jump for joy, but are their services just average as well? Does the company have any unique options? If not, then why are their prices so low? Do they get enough business? If a wedding company can help you save by creating a package just for you then this might interest you. Any company with average prices must deliver in other areas. Your wedding is FAR from average. Expensive Wedding Costs So you have interviewed several wedding companies and determined that the pricing does not matter. Great, you will have more options available for you. My only concern for you is that sometimes these prices are determined by people that have overinflated egos. It is best to make sure that on the contract “IN WRITING” it is stated as to exactly what you are getting. Do not leave any room for discrepancies. Trust me, I am a wedding entertainment vendor and I have heard horror stories from other brides. An expensive wedding cost does not always mean that you will be receiving the best service. How Much Does a Wedding Cost The cost of a wedding reception can not be determined in dollar amounts. It will cost you aggravation and grief if you make a poor choice. This goes for the expensive, cheap, and average wedding costs. The most important thing is that you enjoy your wedding reception with you family and friends knowing that you spent just amount of time and energy into selecting the perfect wedding reception vendors.

Responsibilities of the Bridal Party
Bridal attendants are chosen from your close friends and family members, including any sisters of the groom. You may elect to have both a maid and matron of honor, but you will have to designate which one will attend you at the alter, to hold your bouquet and the groom's ring, and to help your veil and train. However, there are many responsibilities of the bridal party. If you decide to have a flower girl, the best ages are between four and nine. If any are younger than this, be prepared for the unexpected to happen, because a younger child's actions can be very unpredictable. If you decide to have children in your wedding party who are under four years of age, you may want to have them seated with their parents once the officiant has asked, "Who gives this woman?" They can later follow the bride and groom back up the aisle during the recessional. Responsibilities of the Bridal Party What are the responsibilities of the bridal party? Junior bridesmaids’ are generally between the ages of ten and sixteen. Bridesmaids are usually sixteen years of age and older. Special others can be included in the house party by having them preside over the guest book and gift tables, distribute rice, serve the cake and punch, entertain the guests, provide housing and transportation, or cover various details for you. When a remarriage occurs and there are children involved (yours, the groom's, or both), give them all honored positions in the day's activities. It they are willing, you could have the children stand with you at the altar. Teenagers or adult children may serve as your honor attendants. Younger children could serve as flower girls or ring bearers. They could also escort you down the aisle. They can further participate in the ceremony by reading a special poem, Scripture, or prayer. When you plans involve children from former marriages, you may need to check with the other parents before involving them in your wedding activities. When selecting the bridal attendants dresses and accessories; consider their financial status and if the dress will be useful to them afterward. If possible, have a couple of your attendants try on two or three different styles of dresses. It is nice to ask them for their opinion, but the final choice is your. Order the dresses at the same time to avoid any variations in color and design. The flower girls dress may be the same style as the bridesmaids or a dress of complementary style and color. It may also be shorter in length for ease of movement. In some ceremony locations, your attendants may be required to have their heads covered; otherwise, the choice is your. Attendants shoes should be of the same style, but the height of the heels may vary according to the girl’s heights and their individual need for comfort. If the attendants shoes are being dyed to match, have them done at the same place and time to ensure color conformity. Also be sure to select a complimentary shade of hosiery and purchase two pairs for each attendant (an extra pair for emergencies). Any jewelry that is worn should be small and dainty, of the same or similar style. Any gloves that are worn should be of the same style and length. Use fabric swatches to coordinate colors of lipstick and nail polish for the attendants. For dresses other than floor length, it is better to have the hems measured down from the knee of each bridesmaid rather than the same distance up from the floor. Just as the head heights of the girls vary, so should their hem lengths. The overall appearance of each girl in her dress is far more important than all dresses being the same distance from the floor. If possible, have everyone dress at the ceremony site to avoid wrinkling dresses in transit. Bridal attendants should be invited to all parties given for the bride or the bride and groom, including the rehearsal dinner. The only exceptions may be special group or office parties. The flower girl is not usually invited to the bridal parties, but her mother is. Her parents may be invited to any parties given for both the bride and groom, and her father to any bachelor parties. Invite the flower girl to the rehearsal dinner. If it is the night before the wedding, her parents may decide to have her forgo the dinner so she'll be rested for the wedding day. Your gifts to the bridesmaids are usually alike, but the honor attendant’s gift may vary from the others in style and design. The flower girl may receive a different type of gift than the other attendants. Possible gift choices: for bridesmaids - keepsake boxes, books, compacts, cosmetic bags, crystal, evening bags, engraved pens and pencil sets, jewelry, jewelry cases, perfume, photo albums, picture frames, porcelain, or stationary; for the flower girl - charm bracelet, china doll, jewelry box, piggy bank, or stuffed animal. Responsibilities of the Maid/Matron of Honor Before the wedding, she - may help you in such ways as addressing invitations and entertaining out-of-town guests. - is responsible for making and keeping any alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes she will be wearing for the wedding when she goes for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. - arrives early at a designated place to help you dress. During the ceremony, she - precedes you and your father in the processional - arranges your train at the altar. - holds the bridal bouquet at the required time. - may be in charge of the grooms ring in a double-ring ceremony until it is needed. - adjusts your veil and again arranges your train for the recessional. - usually walks with the best man in the recessional. - signs the marriage license. At the reception, she - stands next to the groom in the receiving line. - sits on the grooms left during a sit-down meal. - helps you change into your going-away cloths. - informs the parents when the bridal couple is ready to leave. Responsibilities of the Bridesmaids Before the wedding, they - may help you address invitations and assist with any errands. - are responsible for individually making and keeping their alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes they will be wearing for the wedding when they go for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. During the ceremony, they - either walk alone, in pairs, or with an usher in the processional. - are usually escorted by the ushers in the recessional. When there are more bridesmaids than ushers, the extras can walk alone or in pairs. At the reception, they - may stand in the receiving line. - sit at either the brides table or a special attendants table during a sit-down or buffet dinner, seated in alternating positions with the ushers around the table. - mingle with the guests, helping the hosts entertain. Responsibilities of the Flower Girl Before the wedding, she - is responsible for making and keeping her alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes she will be wearing for the wedding when she does for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. - may attend the rehearsal dinner along with her parents. During the ceremony, she - walks, alone or with the ring bearer, directly in front of you and your father in the processional. - may stand with the bridal party at the altar or be seated with her parents during the ceremony. - may follow directly behind the bride and groom in the recessional. At the reception, she - does not stand in the receiving line. - either remains with her parents or sits at a special table for children under adult supervision.

PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

You want your wedding to be uniquely expressive of you and your fianc©. Consult with the Michigan wedding professionals that are the most referred who specialize in weddings. Their experience will be invaluable as you plan each exciting step of the way.

12 MONTHS

You should buy engagement rings and pick your wedding date. Also during this time you should put a deposit down on your reception and ceremony venue in Michigan so that it is reserved. The minister or officiant performing the ceremony should also be booked. This goes for the same with your caterer and florist. Select the bridesmaids and groomsmen of your bridal party, and start to prepare a budget that works with your goals financially.

9 MONTHS

You should buy wedding rings and begin your guest list. Also select the wedding music and reserve your musician, band, and/or DJ for the Michigan wedding reception. The photographer that will be capturing your memories should also be booked. This goes for the same with a videographer as well. You should make sure to register for gifts with a place you and your significant other agree on. And finally order your wedding dress and bridesmaids’ dresses.

6 MONTHS

6 months away, and it is time to choose the cake. After your wedding day there is typically a honeymoon and right now is the perfect time to complete the plans. Also during this month order your invitations and announcements for your guests. The floral arrangements should be chosen including boutonnieres, and corsages. And to get to and from the different venues book transportation for your wedding.

3 MONTHS

You should order tuxedos and finalize your guest list. Once finalized begin mailing invitations and schedule the date and time for the rehearsal. Any out of town guests should have rooms reserved. If required on your state you need to see a doctor for blood test or health certificate. Then there is the final dress fitting and the ordering guest keepsakes.

1 MONTH

Almost done, now you need to pick up the marriage license and begin writing thank-you notes. Your wedding announcements should be sent to the local Michigan newspaper company after you have mailed them. Remember to pack before the honeymoon and confirm reservations. And before attending your ceremony rehearsal/rehearsal dinner you need to pick up your wedding dress and tuxedo.

7 Tips for Finding the Right Wedding Suppliers
Organising your wedding is a huge task and it can be daunting at times. Not only do you have to find a great venue and a dress that makes you feel beautiful, you also have to find the right photographer, florist, cake, music, caterers and more. But, what is the best way to go about finding all these wedding suppliers?

Here are some tips to help you get started.

(1) Make a to-do list " be organised and get yourself off to a great start by making a wedding to-do list. There are a few things that you will need to organise as soon as you can such as finding a venue, booking caterers and choosing a dress. Other things such as choosing your wedding rings, ordering your cake and selecting stationery can wait until a bit later. Prioritise your list and put a rough date next to each item to help you remember when it needs to be done by.

(2) Get Recommendations from friends and family " how do you know which suppliers are reliable and provide a high quality service? The best way to determine this is by speaking to friends or relatives who have recently organised a wedding and ask them which suppliers they chose and which ones they were pleased with. Nothing can beat a recommendation from a friend.

(3) Go to Wedding Fayres " wedding fairs can be a lot of fun for you. You can sample a few canopies, wedding cake and perhaps some champagne, while chatting to a lot of different suppliers under one roof. This is a great chance for you to meet potential photographers, cake designers, stationery suppliers, caterers, videographers, dress designers and more, all within a few hours.

(4) Look in Wedding Magazines " many wedding magazines have a list of suppliers and adverts inside, usually on the last few pages. Many magazines also have real life stories with details and photos about recently married couples and often details on the suppliers used by the couple.

(5) Use the Internet " this sounds obvious, but it makes sense to visit Google or Yahoo and enter the name of your city or area along with what you are looking for e.g. "wedding cakes Manchester" or something similar. This gives you a great opportunity to check out the website of your potential suppliers before speaking to them in person. Often this can be a huge time saver as you can immediately eliminate suppliers that are too expensive or that are not to your taste.

(6) Use the Phone " don’t be afraid to phone round a few suppliers before you make the decision to speak to them in person. A lot suppliers do not have any details about prices on their website, so a quick telephone call to find this out can save you a lot of time.

(7) Be Prepared " finally, make sure you are prepared! Before you visit a potential supplier have a think about what you want. Talk about it with your fianc© and with your parents if they are helping to pay for the wedding.
